McLaughlin Comments on Crisis

Sinn Fein chairman Mitchel McLaughlin, speaking at an emergency meeting of the party's executive in Dublin today, said that Sinn Fein remain committed to the peace process and that they will not be deflected by allegations linking the IRA with the Northern Bank raid.

"The IRA has made it clear it did not carry out the robbery," said McLaughlin.

"Hugh Orde went to the media yesterday not on the basis of facts or evidence, but on the basis of reports from securocrats who have been working to undermine the peace process for years."

"Sinn Fein's priority is to advance the peace process and to defend the rights of those who vote for us,"McLaughlin added.

Do Sinn Fein take us all for fools? The words of an illegal terrorist organisation like the IRA are supposed to have more credibility than the Chief Constable?Yeah right!

Sinn Fein's priority is to undermine the peace process by pandering to the IRA rather than their own electorate.I am also getting sick and tired of this word "securocrats" which is frequently trotted out by SF when they know THEY are in the wrong.
