Typical Irish weather!
Uh-oh. Irish astronomy enthusiasts were left disappointed yesterday morning when cloud cover across much of the country spoiled their view of yesterday's partial solar eclipse.
Astronomy Ireland had set up safe viewing stations around the country, but cloud ruined the eclipse for most onlookers.
Around two-thirds of the sun's surface was in shadow during the event, which reached is peak at around 10am .
There will be a chance to see it again though - in 2011.
I can't say I'm surprised to be honest. Irish weather can be so cruel!
