All-Ireland presidential election?

I have added a new poll to United Irelander which asks the question:

Should northern nationalists be allowed vote in Irish presidential elections?

As per usual, please take the time to vote in the poll and to use the comments section of this post to explain your choice.

Personally as an Irish nationalist I feel it is farcical that Irishmen and Irishwomen from Ireland's north cannot vote in an Irish presidential election like the rest of their compatriots - yet the current President of Ireland was herself born north of the border!

As far as I know, the official title of the position is 'President of Ireland' which implies that the President is the representative of the Irish nation.

I think it is high time that Irish people from Down, Derry, Armagh, Antrim, Fermanagh and Tyrone were allowed to have their say on the Irish presidency just like Irish people in the other 26 counties.

Let's see it happen.
