Taiwan Condemns China 'Provocation'
Taiwan has blasted China over a new law giving Beijing the legal right to use force against the island if it moves towards declaring formal independence.China sees Taiwan as its territory and says it reserves the right to use force if "peaceful reunification" fails.
Joseph Wu, chairman of Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, accused China of "serious provocation" which gravely affects regional security.
The White House said the adoption of the new law was "unfortunate".
It is easy to draw parallels between China's aspirations and that of the Irish Republic prior to the Good Friday Agreement, however the Irish government didn't threaten and bully the Northern State in the way China has threatened and bullied Taiwan. If China decides to use physical force against Taiwan, then the USA and the other nations of the world will be honour bound to use physical force against China.
