Hypocrites Get Off Lightly
I noticed that Sinn Fein MPs were stripped of around £440,000 of House of Commons allowances as punishment for the party's links to an IRA bank robbery.
However a cross-party bid to permanently kick the four MPs out of their Westminster offices and bar them from using parliamentary facilities as well was rejected.
The criminals deserved to be kicked out of their Westminster offices and they don't deserve access to parliamentary facilities.Being stripped of their allowances will achieve nothing.They are pretty flush right now!Seamus Mallon of the SDLP was spot on when he accused them of hypocrisy for taking the allowances in the first place.They claim to oppose British rule in Ireland yet they have no problem in taking British money!
