Poll Results - Send Colombia Three back!
After being up for the week, I have closed the poll which asked:
'Should Ireland return the Colombia Three'?
The final results were:
- Yes - 56% (25 votes)
-No - 44% (20 votes)
As I mentioned last week, I was one of the people who voted no but it seems that most people who visit United Irelander think differently! It was quite a close poll throughout the week but the majority seem to think that they should be sent back.
Legal technicalities would appear to be the key factor though and it looks like the men will stay in Ireland because of the absence of an extradition treaty between Ireland and Colombia. Personally I think this is a good thing but it's a divisive issue and no doubt plenty of people think otherwise.
