License to thrill. Well not really...
The Irish Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Noel Dempsey is handing over the management of Irish TV licence fees to RTE.
He says however he will retain control over licence fee levels.
The handover is intended to reduce the current amount of fee evasion.
Under the new agreement, An Post will continue to be responsible for collecting TV licence fees.
Does this mean if we don't pay our license we'll have the likes of Ryan Tubridy and Shirley Temple Bar hounding us for the money on our doorsteps? If that turns out to be the case, no one will evade paying it!
