Irish support EU constitution?

More than half of Irish people support the idea of a European Constitution, according to a public opinion poll published today by the European Commission.

The Eurobarometer poll, which interviewed thousands of European citizens, also shows that six out of 10 people in the EU are in favour of a constitution for Europe.

I sincerely hope this isn't the case. One must be very wary of the source considering it's the European Commission who have published the poll.

Polls after the rejection of the document by French and Dutch voters suggested most Irish people opposed it so I think the reality is, most Irish people don't really know what to make of the constitution.

One thing is certain - it will give a bad deal to this country and cause serious harm to the idea of Ireland being a sovereign nation. If Irish people do support this constitution then they need a serious reality check as they will send us all into a European Superstate.
