Hero: Viktor Yushchenko:Ukraine's Central Election Commission tonight declared Mr.Yushchenko the winner of the presidential election over rival Viktor Yanukovych.

Hopefully Mr.Yanukovych will now respect the decision but it looks likely he will instead be filing more legal actions.He should have the good grace to know he is beaten.

Villain: Martin McGuinness:He expressed his views on the Taoiseach's comments saying he was left feeling "angry and perplexed" before yet again bringing up his party's mandate.

McGuinness would do well to realise that the majority of nationalists in the island are "angry and perplexed" about the continuation of IRA criminality.
