• The restoration of the assembly in Ireland's north.
• A visit by the Queen to Ireland.Is this ever going to take place?
• A visit by the Pope to Ireland.It would be great if it took place but the Pope's health must be taken into account.Would be even better if he got to visit the North this time.
• A downturn in Sinn Fein's fortunes.As it celebrates it's 100th anniversary(Wha?)hopefully this recruitment drive they're said to be planning will not be successful.Sinn Fein are a danger to nationalism and I hope this year the SDLP catch up on them.
• Ireland to do well in the qualifying fixtures for the World Cup in 2006.OK this isn't political but the boys in green need to be there!Come on Keano,lead the charge!
