Thursday Thoughts:Visit from Monarchy?
Does anyone know what has become of the plans that were in place for the Queen to visit the Irish Republic? Nothing has come from the original plans which would have been momentous if they had gone ahead.
I believe that a visit to the Republic of Ireland by the Queen would go well and though I imagine there would be concern from several sections of society, I think ultimately it would prove worthwhile.
I would like to see regular visits from the Monarchy and these visits should be every six months or so. These visits would show Unionists that we respect their identity and their beliefs and these visits would help advance the cause of Irish reunification.
