Saturday Survey
Heroes of the Week: Alistair Cragg and David Gillick:Well I have to award it to the two Irish athletes who have won gold for Ireland.Great stuff!
Villain of the Week: Mitchel McLaughlin:This week Mitchel rejected the notion that the IRA are a "bunch of gangsters" saying they are instead "patriots".Dream on,Mitchel!
Funniest Moment of the Week: Delia Smith's Half-Time Rant:I thought the half-time rant by Smith during Norwich city's match with Man City was hilarious.Smith urged fans of her club Norwich to show more support screaming: "We need a 12th man here.Where are you?Let's be 'aving you.Come on".I think it's fair to assume she'd had a little bit too much to drink...
Dunces of the Week: Anti-War Protesters:On Wednesday,a small number of anti-war protesters mounted a protest at the Irish Embassy in London in solidarity with Irish peace activists facing trial for damaging a US warplane at Shannon Airport. They chained themselves inside and outside the building.Fools.
Celebrities of the Week:Clint Eastwood,Hilary Swank,Jamie Foxx,Cate Blanchett and Morgan Freeman:Just some of the Hollywood stars who picked up awards at this week's Oscars.Well done to them.
Quote of the Week: "We know that breaking the law is a crime. But we refuse to criminalise those who break the law in pursuit of legitimate political objectives." - Gerry Adams.
This is an extraordinary statement and, as I said earlier, it highlights just how dangerous Sinn Fein's way of thinking is.
