Double Gold for Ireland!
Alistair Cragg and David Gillick both won gold medals at the European Indoor Championship this evening.
South-African born Cragg stormed to an emphatic victory in the final of the men's 3,000m final totally outpacing the rest of the field to beat Britain's John Mayock in just under five seconds, coming home in 7:46.32 seconds.
Earlier, Dubliner David Gillick won the 400m final fending off the challenge of Spain's David Canal who had the vociferous support of the home crowd to finish in 46.30 seconds beating Canal by 0.34 seconds.
"Right now I feel a little tired, but I enjoyed it," said Gilick."Canal went off very hard on the first lap, but I just waited.I can't believe it."
Congratulations to Alistair Craig and David Gillick.They have done this country proud.
