Keane prepares for Old Firm clash

The legend will be ready for the battle I can't wait for today's Old Firm derby.

Celtic travel to Ibrox to play Rangers in what will be Roy Keane's first taste of the Old Firm rivalry. The game kicks off at 12:30 pm.

Roy Keane and Neil Lennon, rested in midweek, will both play in the Celtic midfield, with Shunsuke Nakamura dropping out.

Striker John Hartson will also return to the starting line-up.

It will be interesting to see the reaction Keane gets from the Rangers fans. Of course, they will boo him right from the start. Their apologists will tell us that this is because Keane is disliked everywhere but those of us with a modicum of intelligence will know perfectly well why they are booing him - because he's Irish. In fact, I wager they will boo him vociferously throughout the match but I don't believe it will faze the Corkman one bit.

Rangers have been diabolical this season and they have announced in the past week that their manager Alex McLeish will leave at the end of the season so I don't forsee Rangers having the heart for this one today. The team has too many mercenaries anyway who couldn't care less about the team or the tradition of the Old Firm rivalry.

Celtic however have a winner and champion in their midfield who has been a Celtic fan all his life as well as a proud Irishman. I predict with some confidence that Roy Keane will inspire Celtic to a well fought out victroy at Ibrox.

United Irelander's prediction:

Rangers 0 Celtic 2

Come on Keano and come on Celtic!

Update: Rangers O Celtic 1 FT

I'll take that! Keano had a great game and Celtic have gone 21 points clear of Rangers in the title race! Great stuff!
