To Protect and Serve...despite everything
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has dismissed accusations that the Gardai are one of Europe's worst-resourced police forces.
The Garda Representative Association said it was concerned about poor working conditions in stations and an outdated radio communication system.
However the Taoiseach has moved to allay fears and details have emerged about a top of the range communication system which the Gardai will soon be utilising. To see the hi-tech gizmo they will be given, see here.*
