Setting the Record Straight!
People who visit this site and who have read comments from me on other sites will know that one thing which really irritates me is people who criticise Irish neutrality and make out that Eire was in some way pro-Nazi.
That is absolute bollocks.
Ryle Dwyer of the Irish Examiner makes some excellent points about de Valera's position during WW2 and I urge everyone to read it.He stresses points that I have made on many occasions such as the fact that de Valera's condolence over the death of Hitler was a mark of respect for Edouard Hempel, the German minister.
