Mullen On The Money
Have I mentioned how much I admire Ronan Mullen from the Irish Examiner?I have?Well, let me do so again - he's great! His latest article comments on Sinn Fein/IRA activity and the fallout from the murder of Robert McCartney.
"SF is presenting us with an illusion of democratic intent. In Ireland,we are supposed to have government by the people, with elected representatives taking decisions and the military doing its bidding. In IRAland,it happens the other way around," writes Ronan.
He finishes his piece with some optimism for the peace process: "While this may seem like a very bleak moment in the peace process, it may also be the inevitable fork in the road. The IRA and its PR office have to choose between their own archaic doctrine and a democratic future, and the emergence of civic rage in the nationalist community may send them down the right path."
